Reuben Duran will make his comeback fight after a long lay off at the Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale going down Dec. 15 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. His opponent is TUF Brazil vet Hugo”Wolverine” Viana, who will be trying to remain undefeated. MMAinterviews learned from sources close to the fighters that bout agreements have been signed and sent.
Duran suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery following his first win in the UFC in June of 2011. Soon after recovering, he blew his ACL in training, forcing yet another surgery and sidelining the exciting bantamweight for nearly a year. After months of rehab, Duran says he is back to 100% and is looking forward to continuing where he left off.
Viana last competed in June, winning his sixth fight over John Teixeira da Concelcao at UFC 147. All of his wins have come by decision, while Duran has finished all but one of his opponents.
