A lightweight battle between Edson Barboza and Evan Dunham will join the growing list of exciting fights going down at UFC 146 on Memorial Day weekend in Las Vegas. Dana White announced the news on his twitter earlier today.
Barboza is coming off of a highlight reel spinning heel kick knockout against Terry Etim, spring-boarding him into the discussion as a contender in the lightweight division. Taking on a tough well-rounded opponent like Dunham will be a big test for the young Brazilian prospect.
The Xtreme Couture fighter is coming off of two wins over Shamar Bailey and Nik Lentz, proving that he belongs amongst the elite in the UFC lightweight division. He has the ability to test Barboza’s takedown defense with his wrestling and grappling prowess and has the standup ability worthy of keeping patient and setting up his shot. Barboza will undoubtedly look to keep the fight upright and use his shins to create another jaw-dropping moment in the UFC octagon.
The winner of this fight will emerge as a top contender and will likely get a very high level fight with title implications.
