Yves Edwards will take on Donald Cerrone at UFC on FUEL 3 on May 15th. The fight surprisingly is on the undercard of the event in Fairfax, Virginia according to “UFC Tonight.” Edwards is coming off of a decision loss to Tony Ferguson in what was a close fight, while Cerrone is coming off of a loss to Nate Diaz in a rather one-sided affair.
Cerrone was on a tear in 2011, winning four fights and stopping three of those opponents before running into a buzz saw in Diaz at UFC 141. Despite that loss, the “Thug-jitsu Master” is looking forward to testing himself against top competition, and feels Cerrone is just that.
“I think the two best guys from the WEC are Donald and Ben Henderson, so I’m extremely excited about this fight,” Edwards told MMAinterviews. “You can’t claim to want to fight the best guys in the world and then not fight Cerrone.”
