In the UFC’s first full programming on FOX 11, with an attendance of 17,425 and a live gate of $1.2 million, Rashad Evans stamped his ticket to his long awaited fight against UFC Light Heavyweight Champ Jon Jones.  He dominated Phil Davis in every facet, earning a unanimous decision.  Evans looked great in all aspects, including cardio which has been the only knock on the highly ranked fighter in the past.  He is booked to fight Jones at UFC 145 in Atlanta, Georgia on April 21st.

Chael Sonnen also earned his title shot against Anderson Silva, likely in June when the UFC returns to Brazil.  He earned a decision win over Michael Bisping in what was a much closer fight than many anticipated.  Bisping was able to pepper Sonnen with strikes, but in the end, Sonnen’s superior wrestling left him with his hand raised.

Also in middleweight action, Chris Weidman came out victorious against Damian Maia despite taking the bout on two weeks notice.  Weidman was the one on top when the fight did hit the mat, but the majority of the fight was on the feet and was quite even.  His ability to be on top though is likely what made the judges lean his way with the decision.
