Rashad Evan’s promised title shot has been put on hold once again. His injured thumb has forced him to sit and watch Jon Jones defend his title for the second time. This time it will be against Lyoto Machida at UFC 140 in Toronto, Canada this December. Dana White confirmed the news via twitter today.
The move comes as a bit of a surprise as Machida’s only victory since losing to “Shogun” Rua and “Rampage” Jackson was a knockout of Randy Couture. Prior to those losses the Japanese-Brazilian fighter was 16-0 and will look to regain the belt he once wore.
Jones recently solidified himself as one of the most dominating fighters in the world with his submission win over Rampage and will look to prove it once again against Machida.
