After a close fight, Joe Duarte’s hand was raised. Jorge Gurgel and Duarte went back and forth for 15 minutes, but in the eyes of the judges, Duarte did enough to win the main event at Strikeforce Challengers 18.
The win is Duarte’s 5th in a row, perhaps putting him in the mix for a contender bout in Strikeforce. Seeing as Duarte is close friends with K.J. Noons, it is difficult to say who is next opponent will be.
